Madurai Kamaraj Universtiy, established in 1966, has 18 Schools comprising 75 Departments. The University has 109 affiliated Colleges
(9 Autonomous)
including other approved institutions and 7 evening colleges. University Grants Commision, New Delhi has recognized MKU as a University with Potential for Excellence.

The conference is organized by the School of Energy, Environment and Natural resources, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. This Interdisciplinary School was started in the year 1981 with support of UGC and Government of Tamil Nadu and includes the Departments of Solar Energy, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources, Bio Energy, Futures Studies, Marine and Coastal Studies.

The International conference is multidisciplinary with the primary aim to bring together resource persons in academia, research laboratories and industry together, and offer a collaborative platform to address the emerging issues and solutions with reference to Energy and Global climate. This forum will discuss and analyze various themes, challenges and opportunities for seeking to minimize the burden of rapid climate change to ensure sustainable development. The conference will feature original research and industrial papers, demonstrations on the theory, design, field experiences, implementation and implications of trends and futures of renewable energy and climate change in the globalized era.
